Adolph E. Peschke

Adolph was a wise and generous individual who knew how to give of himself. I will miss my pioneering mentor, but will endeavor to help carry on his legacy for the benefit of future Scouting generations.

I remember well a wonderful Scouter and inspirational leader, Adolph Peschke. He served the Scouts of the St. Louis Area Council in a dedicated fashion. Thank you, Adolph, for all you have done for youth.

I first met Adolph as a volunteer with the Horse Trail Guides, Nagle Horse Camp and at Adventure Days. He was a wealth of information and stories, always patient and kind with us newbies. He touched so many lives. He will be missed.

There are "signs" of Adolph all around our camps, and he will be remembered fondly.

Many hours spent with Adolph in the Scoutcraft field at Camp May. Damon Runyon could not have created a more perfect character for the role he played in Scouting. If you met him, you would remember him. I always left an impression. There will be semaphore towers beyond the perarly gates....and they will finally be constructed correctly.

Adolph is surrounded by his many of his fellow Scouters discussing the next pioneering projects for Irondale, Lions' Den, Beaumont, or S-F. His contributions to Scouting was significant, but his contributions to the Saint Louis Council will always remain fresh when anyone asked about the pioneering kits, horse hikes, roving camps, Eagle Scout Association and on and on. On a personal note I will miss the phone conversations with him about Scouting and the many events where he was a major...

Don and Kay, on behalf of the St.Louis Area Council Trail Guide Committee we want to give our condolences on Adolph's death. But we have only fond memories of Adolph and all the work and leadership he gave to the council as well as the trail guide committee. We are still in full operation and have added a number of horse activities. I am the coordinator of the committee and Adolph recruited me to that position a number of years before he left St.Louis and I thank him always for getting me...
