Mrs. Ruth Walent Fox

Ruth Walent Fox, 91, of Bloomington, died Sunday, January 9th, at
Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center. Born December 21, 1919 in
Nashua, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Anthony and Agatha
(Chesnolevich) Walent. Ruth grew up in a large family of four brothers
and two sisters.
Ruth later moved to Bloomington, where she worked for Sarkes Tarzian,
and later at a local yarn store. Ruth was an accomplished seamstress,
knitter, quilter, cross-stitcher, and also excelled at ceramics. She
also was a true animal lover, especially dachsunds, and later cats. She
enjoyed feeding the birds and loved all wildlife. She especially
enjoyed her lakeside home at Lake Lemmon, with her beloved husband
"Foxie." She was a member of the Eastern Star for many years.

Affectionately known as "Ruthie" to many of her friends, she was a
private, yet affable person with a great sense of humor. She developed
many friends over her lifetime, and was always a good friend to them.
Ruth was very friendly, humble, and unpretentious to others. One of her
favorite sayings was, "I pay my bills and taxes, I mind my own business,
and I still get into trouble."

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, William, Walter,
Anthony Jr., Joseph, and one sister, Madeline Kulikowski. Also
preceding her in death, were husband Charles S. Fox ("Foxie"), and son
Charles Ross Fox ("Charlie"). Survivors include her sister, Francis
Ward, and nieces, Priscilla Slatunas, of Nashua, NH, Margaret Woitkowski of NH, and nephews Richard, David Walent, and Edmund Wolodzko,
great nephew, Lance
Fox (wife Irene), and great-great nephew, Dane Fox, all of Bloomington.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday at Day Funeral Home.
Visitation will be on Wednesday at Day Funeral Home from 5-8 pm. Burial
will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made
to the Monroe County Humane Association or Bloomington Animal Shelter.
