Not sure what to say?

Pappy always had a ready smile and hello for everyone. I will remember him fondly from my time at the Neag School of Education. My deepest sympathies to his entire family.

I learned something every time I spoke to him.......a great intellect, a great heart, and a great soul......

To All of You,
We are so truly sad to hear that we've lost our beloved Pappy. He is the purest model of a life well lived, and we hope we always put to use the lessons he taught us.
We shared many a laugh with Pappy through the years, and we'll be forever grateful for the warmth he brought to our hearts.
The strength he provided us, most recently upon the death of our dad/husband, will forever be with us.
Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Annie,Sandy,John and Elayne..I was saddened to hear of your dad's passing. Through the years I would occasionally run into him at UConn or in town. Without exception, he would smile, shake my hand and say "Hello Joseph." Having lost both my parents years ago, I know the terrible void that is left in one's heart. Both your mom and dad were wonderful people and hopefully you can take some solace in knowing that they are together again. Sadly,I am unable to attend the wake or memorial...

Anne:

My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I had the privilege of meeting your dad and you at the UConn's Office of Grants and Contracts. I hold your father in great esteem, a wonderful man to work with. He touched so many lives with his warm personality and strong convictions. He had a great love and passion for children in need of Special Education. May the love of family and friends bring you comfort during this time of mourning.

Pappy touched the lives of many children and their families. His influence went beyond this to include teachers and professionals working in the field of Special Education. He was not only a consultant, support person, advocate, mentor, but also a father figure to many including me. I will miss him and will remember the many years we spent together on behalf of children. You are now with God and looking upon us to do right. Angelo Vespe Ph.D.

The Crowne Plaza Cromwell Staff has worked with Pappy over the years and he has become dear to our hearts. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Anne, John, Sandra and Elayne,

My thoughts are with you all during this most difficult time. For me, the passing of my last parent left an empty place in my heart that has never been filled. I am sure that you are experiencing these same feelings of loneliness and loss. I hope that the many happy memories you have of your dad and your mom will provide comfort and many enjoyable moments in the years to come. Your dad was a complex and remarkable person who lived life to its...

The Pappanikou Family:
My sympathy and prayers are with the entire family during this time of loss, may you always keep the memories of Pappy close to you heart. I had the privilege of meeting and working with Pappy at UConn Athletics Development Office. He gave so much of himself to the University and “The Huskies”. He touched so many lives with his gregarious personality, generous soul and that wonderful sparkle in his eyes that just lit up a room when he came in! I will always...
