Agnes Eileen Cumming

Agnes Eileen Cumming passed away on July 9, 2017 in Sugar Land, Texas at the age of 90. She was born in Brooklyn New York on January 26, 1927 to the union of William Gayron and Agnes Reilly.
Agnes grew up in Brooklyn. After graduating high school, she went to work in the banking industry where she met her husband Jim. When Agnes and Jim met it was love at first sight. Their first date was on Valentine's Day 1948 and married July 11th of the same year. They remained married for 62 years. Their life together was happy. Agnes and Jim were blessed with 2 children, and she was a dedicated wife and mother. After retirement, they moved to Port Orange, Florida and became actively involved in the VFW where she participated in the Ladies Auxiliary events. She loved the time she spent traveling in the motor home with Jim and experiencing the joys of life together with him. Agnes's other joys in her life were gatherings with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Her extended family meant the world to her.
Agnes is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, James Cumming; 3 brothers; and 1 sister; she is survived by 1 sister, Virginia Lampard. She is further survived by her son, James J. Cumming; daughter, Susan Eileen Phipps and her husband Gary; 3 grandchildren, Brian Phipps and his wife Stephanie, Kristen Phipps, and Michael Phipps; 2 great grandchildren, Grace Eileen Phipps, and Brenden Hutton; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
A graves side service will take place on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:30 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038
