Agnes Moore Higgins "I think the most important thing is to keep busy and do for others. It's so satisfying helping somebody else instead of thinking of your own troubles. I've just had a nice life, I have a lot to be thankful for." Those are the words of Agnes Loretta Moore Higgins who, at the...

I have always been in awe of the Higgins family, since living nearby in Plainfield in the 1950's. My mom and dad, Myrl and Al, were good friends with Agnes and Chalrie for many years. Agnes and Myrl were in a bridge club together and were in touch until Myrl passed away in 2011.
Our mom really thought a lot of Agnes, but I hadn't realized what a spectacular life she led until reading her obituary. What fine memories all of you Higgins kids must have. May they always be with you.

What a wonderful life! I think anyone who grew up in Saint Mary’s went to school with one of the Higgins. Mr. and Mrs. Higgins were known to be very kind and generous people. Charles Higgins was good friends with my father. In fact he arranged to have my mother and me picked up in New York City when we arrived on the SS America coming from Ireland. May God Bless her soul.
