Agnes Euphrasia Johnson, 97, of Owensboro, formerly of Knottsville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2012, at her home with all of her family by her side. She was born January 21, 1915 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Francis K. and Anna Jarboe Coomes. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, flowers and family. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Edward (Eddie) Johnson, 4 grandchildren, her brothers Francis & Irvin Coomes, and her sisters, Virgie Mae Gilmore, Sister Mary Edith Coomes, OSU, Helen DeLacy, Anastasia Johnson and Celistine Kennedy. Surviving are her children the late Mitchell (Margaret) Johnson of Owensboro, Clayton (Teresa) Johnson of Whitesville, Patrick Johnson, Phillip (Becky) Johnson both of Owensboro, George (Patty) Johnson of Knottsville, Dorothy (the late Bob) Bartlett, Mary Thelma (the late Creed) Hardin, Louise (the late Julian) Crowe all of Owensboro, Edie (Ken) McKay of Stanley, Mildred (the late William LaVerne) Payne, Linda (Daniel) Coomes, Judy (Mark) Freels, Debra A. Johnson and daughter-in-law, Nadine Higdon all of Owensboro. She is also survived by a brother Norman (Betty) Coomes of Knottsville, 41 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews. Services will be 10:00am Friday, January 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Brad Whistle officiating and burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and 8:00 to 9:30am Friday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 5:00pm.
