I knew Agnes through my association with her son, John Howard Wilson when we met in Oxford in 2003 at the Centenary of Evelyn Waugh. She was a remarkable, one might say indefatigable lady who kept up with the gathering of Waugh scholars as they visited the sites at which the author had stayed and lived, including his home in Combe Flory and his college at Oxford.
