I was a pre teen in the 1960s. The older teenagers heard me practicing piano, the typical classics, and yelled from the side walk Pat play some Ahmad Jamal. I had no idea as to who they were talking about, so I went to the record store, and oh my god, I found out who Ahmad Jamal was. I still study Ahmad Jamal, his music quiets my style.

May god continues to strengthen and comfort the family during this difficult period of time.

The Music World lost another Jazz Giant. I remember, as a teenager listening to his albums as I was being introduced to Jazz. I got to see him in concert once, and he did not disappoint. Rest easy my brother....your music & legacy will live on.

Dearest Ahmad and family. As a young girl I´d take that big steam train into New York to visit my Aunt . It was the 50s and my Aunt was to sing at Carnegie.We were all musicians. One night , somewhere in an underground cafe , my sister and I sat entranced listening to The Ahmad . Mother had his first vinyls, so I was more than excited.
