Dear Donald and Family,
Please know that our prayers are with you during this difficult time. We understand that you were very close to your mother...she will be near you now too for her love lives in your heart and memory. Remember she is with her Lord in a beautiful place. May this comfort you during the days ahead. Our prayers and love are with you. We have made a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name.

My long friendship with Don is anchored with memories of "mumus" providing a light on in the kitchen and plenty of homemade sweets on the counter for two friends "bulking up for the bigtime"; way back when. As time passes, those memories of Mrs. Fisher's kindness for Donald's friends, no matter who or how many, stands paramount. I will miss her and those times of warm conversation in the living room with all of us on 100th Street before her son and his buddies headed out the door to do...

One of my favorite memories of Mom/Fisher was August 2006, when we converged on Memphis to pay our mutual respects to Elvis. Her loving and doting son, Donald, myself and a friend, enjoyed a late evening ride through downtown and the park. The open horse carriage brought us all together and it's from that night, that I will forever remember her last words. "My feet are killing me"
We will miss you so and can rest assured that your feet are in a much better place.

And so our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see -- or like a sealed letter they could not plainly read.

It is not too often we meet people who leave lasting impressions on our life and in our soul. I am blessed to have met and known such an incredible lady! For 16 years we shared so much together; both laughter and tears. I will miss you dearly Mom.
