Not sure what to say?

Aileen McKenna´s daughter Maureen was my best friend when I lived in Grand Rapids until 1963. Mrs. McKenna was the kindest, most thoughtful mom on our block, in my opinion. I knew Maureen´s dad too and would visit with him when I would be over playing with Maureen. Jim, Maureen, and Kevin I am so grateful to have known your mom and your dad and I loved the memories I have being your friend , Maureen. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in 1985 and my mom in 2003. I understand how it...

Rest in peace. Mrs McKeena was my second grade teacher. Like all of the staff at Hillcrest she was an exceptional teacher and educator. Thank you for your time, service and being a great teacher.

My heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mother. I was your mother's hairdresser many years ago. I started doing her hair when she lived next door to Aurie Carowitz. I was even present at Maureen wedding. Your mother was delightful woman. I know she will be missed very much. The last time I talked with your mother was just after Aurie had died. Was your mother still living on Hope Street when she passed away?

Kevin, sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.

Even though it was way back in the very early 60's when I had her as my teacher for both kindergarten and 2nd grade, she quickly became my favorite teacher at Hillcrest, and I've never forgotten her. Such a kind, generous, and giving person who touched so many in her life. My sincere sympathy to her family. Lynne' (Barnaby) Morrow

I met Aileen when I moved to a house across the street eight years ago, but she has been an inspiration to me whom I will never forget. Her friendliness, generosity, positivity, strength and zest for life seemed endless and genuine. Her spirit will live on in my heart and the hearts of all who knew her. My sincerest condolences to everyone in the family and her friends.

Such a wonderful teacher. She helped me in so many ways. She definitely was an inspiration for me. Have thought about her all through my life. Can´t wait to see you in heaven!! Karyn

Rest in Peace, Mrs. McKenna. You were one of my absolute favorite teachers at Hillcrest Elementary school back in the early 1970s. I'm so blessed to have known you.

I have memories of Mrs. McKenna at Hillcrest Elementary. She touched many lives. My mom, Joyce Videan made lunches of years and spoke about how pleasant of a teacher she was. God be with you as a family.
