Burns Funeral Home - Frankford Ave. Obituary

Aileen McMahon, 64, passed away on December 17, 2024.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Aileen was an adventurer at heart who found joy in traveling, walking in nature, practicing yoga, and riding her bicycle.  She also enjoyed a multi-decade career in banking and cherished the friendships she built with her colleagues at Wells Fargo.

Aileen was at proud mom to Anastasia and Daniel Altomari, and a beloved sister to Bud McMahon (Esperanza), David McMahon, and Ann Rivera (Tony).  She will also be remembered by her children's father, Daniel Altomari, as well as her niece, Kira, her cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.  Her unwavering fighting spirit and remarkable resilience will forever inspire all those who loved her.

Aileen's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the care team at Fox Chase Cancer Center and the nurses at Jeanes Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:45 A.M. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 2025 E. Atlantic Street, Philadelphia, PA 19134.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Unite for Her, 22 E. King St., Malvern, PA 19355.  Learn more at uniteforher.org.

It has been my honor to be friends with Aileen for over 20 years. Aileen was kind, giving, loyal and as real a person as you'll ever find. She went far above and beyond the call of duty for people, constantly giving others the benefit of the doubt. Through the years we enjoyed many lunches, dinners, sporting events(Phillies and Flyers games), and the theatre as well as just hanging with other friends. The tenacity, strength, and toughness with which she fought her illness serves as an...

What a honor it was to care for such a strong woman. My prayers are with the most amazing and supportive family.

Aileen was my coworker and sat right behind me. She captured my heart and delighted me with her stories. I would love hearing about Anastasia and Dan and the love she has for them. She would tell me about her walking adventures, her new appliances, decorations, anything but it all meant so much to me. We were a team at work and I have missed her everyday she hasn’t been in office. Aileen is beautiful inside and out. She did everything right. I will forever treasure all my memories of her. God...

I got to know Aileen through Meet Up, and was fortunate enough to become her friend. We shared enjoyment in walking, plants, and talking about our families.
She had some great stories to share.
Aileen was witty, funny, and down to earth.
