Not sure what to say?

Fern & Family I was so sadden to hear of the passing of Akeem. My heart aches for you all. I remember all the times Akeem came to my house, playing with my sons & they yours. We had a lot of great times together. You must have been so proud of all of Akeems accomplishments. May he rest in peace & Heaven has another Angel. Much love to you & your family Marjorie, Aamon, Saabir & Bilal Barnes

Anyone who met Akeem was toucbed by his kindness, gentle soul, strong work ethic, and perserverence. My heart goes out to his family, especially his young sons. May they be surrounded by love and positive memories of their father, who was taken too early. I was fortunate to have been Akeem's marine biology professor.

My prayers and condolences to the family of this positive loved brother. He will always be remembered. With love and strength, the Gray family

I never knew or met Akeem. What an awesome athlete and just a wonderful person. I know his aunt Josephine from working together with her for many years. If he has half of her gene pool, he´s all world. My sympathy and deepest condolences to all of his family and friends.
