Not sure what to say?

Al, you were here, and we felt the shape and look and sound of you. Now you're gone, too soon. Thanks for the $20s you slipped to my kid when she was a poor student. Your generosity lives in my heart. You've left waves of caring that flow and dance between us. They're in your children and your wife, in all of us touched by you. Our work of remembering and tribute is how we keep them going, magnify them through our love and caring of each other. So what was once your shape is a reverberating...

he was a sweet man with a great heart...he lives in mine...

His laugh brought me to my knees every time I heard it. Consequently I found myself clowning around a lot in front of him in order to make him laugh - sometimes it worked....and sometimes I got the snap and point shush.

Love you, Dad. Every moment of every day and forever.

I think about Al most days, and sometimes he pops in and says hello to me in my dreams. For me, he's most alive in the full body, convulsive laugh of Julia, and the contemplative kindness of Michael. Big hugs all, and especially to Gayle, Mikey and Juju.

I hope Al and Chuck are having a grand ole time. I miss them both deeply.

I met Al many years ago while working in the Attorney General's Office.
Just a down to earth, genuinely nice guy, who liked to smile.
