Rest in peace "Hero"

I remember when the 232 accident occurred; I saw footage of the landing on television. I was amazed that people survived, and I credit Captain Haynes and his fellow pilots in the cockpit that day for working the problem up to the last possible second.

I wish all pilots were as skilled as you!

As a former aircraft owner and pilot, I have such admiration for Capt. Haynes, and his fellow pilots. The absolute skill and air manship is unbelievable to imagine bringing a DC-10 to the outcome that saved so many lives. Even though Capt. Haynes was deeply saddened by the loss of life, it is a miracle that even 1 survived such a catastrophic mechanical disaster. God Bless him.

Captain Haynes i miss your presence on this earth - fly safely on your way. i have always had a love of aeroplanes - all due to dad's work as an engineer for Rolls Royce aero engines here in Derby, England. He, like you, was a modest man. Your stars shine all the more brightly because you were. The fact is you, Bill, Dudley and Dennis saved all those peoples' lives. That plane shouldn't have returned to earth with souls intact. Much respect and love from Carole, Tim and boys James & Alex...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
