I was deeply saddened to learn of Al's death. I worked for Al for many years and he was a kind and wonderful man. He will truly be missed.

In 1999 Al was in my first watercolor painting class in McCall. I truly enjoyed getting to know him. Following 1999 I also had the pleasure of his banter with Gay Hoopes as we took more watercolor classes. I send my sympathies to all of your family. You have lost a sweet and gentle man.

A blast from my past! One of the jobs Al had in Lewiston was afternoon delivery boy for Hlll's Flower Shop, which my parents, Ted and Katherine Willey owned. I, a 7th or 8th grader, would race from school to accompany Al on his appointed rounds...not because I liked to ride the streets of Lewiston, but because we would play word, grammer, trivia games. I have seen his name in the news, I am very sorry I did not give him a call. He was a special young man, and obviously a exemplary old one....

Al was truely one of a kind. He was engaging and a mentor to young lawyers, including myself. His talents and gifts will not be forgotten.

I'll never forget Al's many contributions to the Stanford Club of Idaho--not the least of which is YOU, Shirley! Your dad was one of a kind. I'll miss him.
