Al was a very special person to my entire family and it will take time for all to adjust to life without him. Al was the most honest, loving person I have had the pleasure to know. Thanks Al for letting us be a part of your life. You will be missed by all. I know you are gone, but I will never forget you or Ruth.

Al gave me my first job back in 1972 working at his barrel company. He and my father (also Al) were the best of friends and I also came to adore him as much. We will truly miss him. My condolences to the family. Dan Silva

I met and attended Garfield High School with Al. I moved away from Seattle in 1968 and lost contact. This was renewed 2 years ago when I was fortunate enough to share a table with him and his son at the 60th reunion of the 1950 graduation class. I share the feeling of loss the community must feel

We were so blessed to have
known Al over the
years through our annual Hawaii trips. Al has always brought
a smile to our faces. We're
so sorry for you and your
family's loss. He will greatly
be missed. You're in our
thoughts & prayers. With all
of our love!

We have lost a great captain, but his legacy will live on. I can still remember Big Al navigating the Firecracker through the wide open ocean to the Big King Salmon as if it were yesterday. Our condolences--Erwin, Julia and Caroline Buske

I was sorry to learn Al passed away from Cardiac Amyloidosis. Although I didn't know him, I thought his family would like to know we now have a Pacific Northwest Amyloidosis Support Group, with meetings held in Portland, OR & Seattle, WA. I am the contact if anyone is interested at 509-448-8981, Kay. I am a ten year survivor of C.A. yet we have too many that don't make it. May his memory help others.

My first time deep-sea salmon fishing was on Al's commercial boat. If I remember right I caught a 30lb King Salmon. I also, went fishing on his charter boat a few times. Many good memories. You will be missed.

Al is and always will be close to my heart. We had a lot of one on one's together talking about life! He was an exceptionally kind soul. I will never forget! I love you Big Al! I will miss you! <3
