Al Wakefield

I had Mr. Wakefield as a football coach during the early 80´s and really enjoyed our talks. He was a truly class person not just a teacher or coach. Every now and then I would run into him later in life, and it didn´t seem as if time had passed. I´m sorry to hear of his passing. To the family, remember he effected and molded many young men and women´s lives over the past 40 years, I know he influenced mine.

I´m sad to hear of Coach Wakefield´s passing and my thoughts are with his family and friends. He was an outstanding coach and mentor, and definitely made an impression on my life. A couple of funny stories: He would print out these itineraries for some of our cross country meets where the team traveled together. My mom was reading it and said "how much money do you need for dinner, it says you´re going to `BK Steakhouse??´" She ends up calling him and finding out it was a joke...

Thanks for changing my life you will never be forgotten see you soon love you brother.
