Alan Anderson

i was so shocked to hear about Allan's death. He was a a much revered husband, father, grandfather, friend.. Although I haven't lived in Portland since 1956 I have many good memories of Allan and Joan while we were in school. I can remember our alphabetical seating arrangements in high school. It was always Anderson, Anderson, Aston and Baker. It was my good luck one year to sit next to Allan in Miss Rich's science class. Allan was always smiling, always a gentleman and always kept...

To the entire Anderson family . We are so sorry for your loss . Going in the store for a purchase was only half the fun, the other half was having fun with Alan and the boys. God bless you all and Alan Rest In Peace.

Jack and I felt very lucky to have known him. We shared a grandson. He was a down to earth old fashioned man, the kind that is rare now days. I'm sure he will be missed by all you had the pleasure to know him. Love and healing light to all his family.

Alan was the epitome of a by gone era, when people stopped to talk to each other to discuss anything, especially local news. Going to Anderson's Feed Store was like going home. He was always there to offer a friendly and knowing suggestion for any of your farming or gardening needs. His smile and presence lit up the store.
He was a true Portland treasure and will be deeply missed.

My husband Jeff Harvey and I have gotten farm supplies from Alan and his "boys" for decades. It was more than just "business" with Alan it was a kinship. We will greatly miss him every time we are there.

I am shocked and saddened by this loss! My thoughts and sincere condolences are with all in the Anderson family, as well as all in the Portland community who had the pleasure, as I did over these past 13 years, of chatting with Alan at the store. It was something I looked forward to every Saturday, throughout the year, during my visits there for sunflower hearts, shelled peanuts and raw honey! Things will never be the same without him there, though I know we all have many wonderful memories...
