Dear Cara, I was so sorry to learn of your Dad´s passing. It was a pleasure to work for him during my years at Rutgers. He was a such a kind and wonderful man with a gentle demeanor. I loved hearing about all his travels that I know he and your mother enjoyed. Please convey my condolences to your mom and your brother. He was so proud of you and Aidan and devoted to your mother. I am so sorry to hear this. Dr. Antoine was a kind man, who enjoyed his life. I loved hearing of his travels after he retired and would come back for the occasional departmental holiday party.

I grew up with Alan in St. Louis and we were neighbors and friends even before kindergarten. We attended Nottingham Grade School and Southwest Highschool together. I am saddened to learn of his passing but loved hearing of the joyful and amazing life he led. I believe it was either our 40th or 50th Highschool Reunion when I last saw him but I will always remember the friendship we enjoyed.
