I remember cousin Alan's smile, kindness , and humor. I also remember taking occasional walks with him to look at birds. He would tell me the many different names .I was always amazed at this . I know he will be missed by many.

Most of my memories of Alan are connected to the Albany Audubon Society. He was an excellent birder and could answer any bird question and identify any bird. He was well known by birders all over the state and beyond. When we went birding, I always wanted to be near Alan so I could be sure to know the names of all the birds I saw. He had a dry wit that kept the group in good spirits. He will be missed by so many. I will miss how he use to tease me when we were on bird outings.
