Not sure what to say?

It's hard to believe that five years have now passed. I still miss the opportunities to catch up when we managed to get up to Whitefield. It seems like yesterday (perhaps now 7-8 years ago) that he shared with me the devastating news that he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Ironically we shared many things from our pre-school days on, and 18 months ago I received the same diagnosis. So Alan, our friendship has yet another common factor. Your memory stays alive with Marcy and Scott...

I knew Alan well as we went thru 12 years of school and graduated together. My heart goes out to you and yours at his loss. I know how it is as I lost my only son and he was only 45. Just know that Alan is with our precious Lord. Your friend in Christ. Kendalyn Stone

Marcy and Scott,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
We fondly remember summer days on Burns Pond with you, your Mom, and your Dad. Throughout the years that followed your Dad remained a friend. He referred great people to help us build a new home there. We pray that this kind and gentle man will now rest in peace. God bless you and your families.

Mary and Scott my condolences to you both. Although I was several years older than your dad, I always enjoyed his company. He was a great guy. My dad worked for Alan's father at the store for many years. Take comfort in knowing that he is at peace now.

Marcy, Scott and extended families,

Our sincerest sympathies to all of you. Alan (and Carlee, too) were my surrogate siblings from pre-school on. I'm very grateful that the Astle family was a significant part of my growing up on Elm Street. I'm a much better person for the friendship they bestowed! Even though we both got caught up in careers and growing families, we were always able to pick up where we left off when we managed to get together. In our last conversation in July, we...

Mary and Scott, so sorry to hear of your Dad's death. He was always very kind to me and my children. And man, could that guy dance! Happy memories from long ago!
