Not sure what to say?

As a classmate of Alan's at Lincoln we had some good times together. My sympathy to the family and friends.

I met Alan in October 1984. As his dentist I have seen him very regularly ever since. We developed a close friendship and over the years and I always enjoyed him. When I saw his name on my schedule I knew I would have good day. His sense of humor, his character, his honesty with his simplicity and intelligence made him a unique and likeable person. Al will be missed. He and I played handball competitively. Al was always a good sport working hard at beating his opponents. We played together mostly at the Milwaukie Elks Club and sometimes elsewhere. His photograph skills were also outstanding. He took some pictures for me of my daughter in mountain bike competition a number of years ago at Mt. Hood. She won and Al's pictures were great. My memories of my friend, Al Beal, will linger long!

Having worked and played with Al for many years at Wanke Cascade, I learned that he was a caring and interesting individual with lots of knowledge and experiences that covered diving, photography, race cars, and people. He will be missed.

As a volunteer at OMSI I got to know Al quite well. He was always cordial, and exchanging banter as well a more serious thoughts was a contact that I always looked forward to on Thursday mornings. He will be missed in a big way.
