Not sure what to say?

It has been a long, sad, and lonesome year without hearing his wonderful voice. Ray and Shirl of the 'old' Ottawa gang had a mass said for Alan at Canadian Martyrs and a few of us 'old gang' members were there to share. We are still saddened at the loss but still celebrate his life and our amazing luck at having crossed paths with such a giving, caring, selfless individual. He had a way. We rejoice that you are at peace Alan but I can bet that those of us left behind are finding this mortal...

It's already been a year since we lost you! It's hard to believe. Alan, you are so deeply missed.

Oh the times he spent with us as we were growing up.
How he dealt with us "teenagers" was a miracle in itself. He introduced me to folk music, we made him listen to heavy metal. He listened to me when I did'nt know who to talk to. He made me laugh and memories of him still do.
I am now 42 years old, he helped shape me into the person I am.
Well done Alan, if I do say so myself. ;)

I have the distinct honor and privelege of having been named after Father Alan. He wrote me a letter when I was just about 6 months old for me to open at my confirmation. Even just by reading this short letter, I can feel Father Alan's heart, see his tenderness and love that he had for people. My parents tell me that I met him as a child... but I was too young to remember. I wish I had had the chance to meet him as an adult... to meet the man who so influenced my life. His spirit now stands...

To the Beauregard Family I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful man Fr. Alan is. I just found out about his passing and am sorry I was not there to celebrate his life. He filled me with such hope at a very desperate time. Family retreat at LaSalette kept so many of us going. I am for ever changed from knowing such a wonderful spirit. To Alan I will see you on the other side. Take care my friend. Thank you is not enough!!!!

Fr. Alan, Nancy & Steve, Oct. 1975 Seekonk, MA

We have cherished Alan's friendship for more than 25 years here in San Diego. He brought his joyful, compassionate spirituality to all. He married us, baptized our children, and blessed my father when he had passed. Somehow we thought he would always be with us. Now, understanding the extent of his loving spirit, I can believe he is still is-- an amazing, lovely, joyful man we feel blessed to be able to call friend.
Our prayers to all his family-- And to you, dear friend, cheers and love.

For so many years, Alan was a close friend. Whether in seminary years or in ministry, our paths continued to cross. From Cambridge, MA to Cambridge, VT to Barona, Viejas and Sycuan Reservations and points in between. Alan refused to be categorized. Heaven will never be the same.
Comfort us here as we sweep your grave and await your visit.

Like Susan McCormack, I came to know Father Alan well during our years together at Dartmouth College. His overwhelming kindness and generosity always impressed me. He struck me as the kind of person who always saw the proverbial glass as half-full. That even came through in his written thoughts as he faced terminal cancer. He was a role model to me and all of my Dartmouth peers, and I'm glad that our life paths crossed. It is evident from all of these Guest Book entries that he touched...
