Carol, I can't say I know how you feel tonight, and I can't say the words that will take away the sense of loss and grief...all I can say is I loved Alan, and I love you and your girls. As you know, Alan was a part of our lives when he was a young college age kid, and he was wonderful. Later, when he was wise enough to choose you for his beautiful bride, we were delighted. Now my heart aches, and my prayers entreat the Father to give each of you something sweet to hold onto in the days ahead....
