Not sure what to say?

In fond remembrance of a very gracious and kind man who gave freely his time, memories and thoughts, now much cherished. I recently read through all of his letters to me which gave me insight into a man with a good heart and a great sense of humour. I'm glad I kept them all and I remember him today and often. So very glad I knew Mr. Canavan.

Alan was more than a war veteran; he was an outstanding gentleman of the highest standard. He was also a personal friend that I knew from 1975 (when I was...

What a wonderful man was Alan Canavan. He so very kindly shared every memory of my late uncle with me, giving me insight into another man I never met face to face. Alan and I were penpals for a short time and I will sorely miss his friendship. He's home with Irene now so I know he's happy. My sincere condolences to his family.
