Not sure what to say?

Cheney Family Alan was a great giver to his students and friends. I will remember our walks from the Somis Academy to Taco Bell where we solved the world's problems and thought out ideas to make our teaching better. He came up with great ideas. Also he will be in our thoughts when we look at our wedding invitations that he designed with some of his great art talents. We will miss him but at least we had the opportunity to meet him and talk with him and watch him effect others who had the...

Dear Cheney Family - I am extreemely sadened by the loss of Al. I am so happy that I had the pleasure of getting to know him during my employment at Somis Academy as Somis' first counselor on staff. Al was kind enough to give me a gift of one of his most beautiful paintings - a swirling sky! I have kept it in my office ever since I received it. Thank you for sharing your wonderful husband, father, and mentor with us. Al will be forever in our hearts and memories. Sincerely, Lori Klein-Del...

Goodbye Alan, we will meet again.
Thank you for all your help. Your courage and good humor in adversity was an inspiration to me. We will miss your great talent and spirit.

Cheney Family,
My husband and I were devastated to hear about Alan. His smiling face is a memory of him that can never fade from my mind. He was a wonderful man and that is evident when you meet his wonderful family. You are in our prayers.

Dear Cheney Family,
My daughter and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cheney when she took his Photography Class at Somis Academy High School this past semester. We knew from the very beginning that he was going to be a great teacher. He was so positive and motivating for her. His comments were "Ashleigh, you have a great eye for photography, keep up the great work" also "I appreciate all your time and energy you put into taking your pictures, it really shows". He really appreciated...

Dear Cheney Family,
I'm so sorry to hear about your father/husband/son. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord sustain you and comfort you during this time until you are reunited as an eternal family. With love,

Dear Cheney Family,
It's been many years since I've seen Al. We were buddies in the Los Gatos Ward in the way olden days. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and sorry I couldn't have made it to the memorial service. It's obvious he was well loved as demonstrated by all the heartfelt comments. My best to you and to Ellen, his sister, also.

The loss of Al Cheney has left a deep hole in our hearts. From the moment we met him, we loved him.
Kind, sincere, gentle, funny, optimistic, talented, gifted, a man of vision. A lifetime of giving, caring, and sharing- you leave a legacy of accomplishment and encouragement. Thank you, Al, for your friendship, mentorship and leadership. We will miss you.

My daughter and I were blessed to have had the opportunity to work
closely with Al during his time at Somis Academy. His positive attitude, kind manner, and ability to share his knowledge is far from the only reasons we will miss him terribly. Our deepest condolences. Julie and Shayna Woods
