A LASTING LIFE IMPRESSION
I remember many great moments and trips to Europe with father Cox. His love and dedication to us as boys and teenagers was unsurpassed. Weekends at the Hochsteg in Bois des Filion, dinners with parents, broom ball games outside, time in the small chapel, classical music coming out of those big speakers in the dining room (tchaikovsky 1812 overture) ... good memories. Winter trips to Copenhagen, Zurich, Bassano del grapa, Feltre. Summer trips in England, France,...

He was like a mentor and protector , not only when in my teens but years after when I was working as an RN in Calgary raising a young child on my own. I don't remember his exact words but he liberated my conscience from nasty rumours that circled back to me as years passedRIP Father Allan Cox

I was an altar boy for Father Cox and I remember being so nervous so Father would flick my finders while I was holding the Bible open while he was reading the gospel. He had such a great sense of humor and zest for life. The day my family borke up and all went into foster homes I was hiding in a storage barrel in the laundry room cause all the social workers and police scared me. Father Cox found me and lifted the lid of the barrel and said to me "Danny do you trust me" and I said yes! He...

From the moment he arrived at St Brendan's parish in Rosemont, Montreal Quebec, in the mid 60's and for the short while he was there, helped so many families and teens. Forever loved and appreciated for all your dedication.

An influential and much admired mentor. Many great memories of high school as a result of Fr Cox's encouragement and support. His office was a much appreciated haven for many troubled teenagers. An inspiration in my work with teenagers.

me late 1970ies at the Hochsteg in Bois des Filion

I came to know father cox when i was working during my vacations as a student in Hochsteg, Mayrhofen, Austria, and having been greatly impressed my him he invited me to his Hochsteg in Bois des Filion where I lived for some months in the late 1970ies. Having found his letters to me today I planned to visit him in Canada because I wanted to talk with him, and searching for him in the internet I found him to have died. Mybe the seed he planted in me many years ago is starting to grow only now....

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

I only attended LCHS for 3 years but it only took Father Cox 3 minutes to make a lasting impression on me- the first morning service for the new 7th graders (in the small LCHS chapel) he had me up front during his "sermon", holding my arms outstretched, gently suggesting that we should pattern our lives like He who was on the cross. Father Cox was a true person. His legacy continues in those he touched, and there are many. God bless him.
