Alan L. Croft, 47, of Poughkeepsie, died on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown. Raised in Hyde Park, he resided in Arizona, Florida and Texas while serving in the armed forces. He moved back to Poughkeepsie in 1985. Mr. Croft retired from the U.S. Air Force as a recruiter in 1992. Prior to the Air Force, he served in the U.S. Navy as a helicopter medic. Most recently, he worked at IBM East Fishkill. A graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School, Class of 1975, he was a member of both the wrestling and football teams. He also played the saxophone in the F.D. Roosevelt Band. An avid runner, he once participated in a base marathon while stationed in Arizona. Born in Poughkeepsie on Oct. 24, 1956, he was the son of Stephen L. and Dawn A. Winters Croft. His mother predeceased him in 1984. On April 20, 2001, he married Lisa M. Lominski in the Chapel at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls. Mrs. Croft survives at home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Stephen Croft and Ruth Wilson, both of Hyde Park; five children, Matthew Croft of Clearwater, Fla., Megan Conner of Poughkeepsie, Kristoffer Croft and Michael Croft, both of Ossining, N.Y., and Katelyn Conner of Poughkeepsie; two sisters, Ann Miller and her husband, David, of Indianapolis, Ind. and Nancy Reedy of Hyde Park; several nieces and nephews; and many loving family members. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 79 p.m. on Wednesday at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Netherwood Baptist Church, Netherwood Road, Salt Point, with the Rev. Robert Beverly Officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the family plot in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
