"He was a Marine," Michael Sherman said to more than 200 people crowded into the Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels on the Fourth of July to say farewell. "He lived that life top to bottom." Sherman, of Wanamassa, N.J., was serving his second tour of duty in the Middle East when he was killed on June 29 in eastern Iraq by a roadside bomb. Sherman, 36, was based in Folsom, Pa. When not on active duty, Sherman was a licensed practical nurse, working at a senior citizens'' home, said his ex-wife, Dolores Sherman. He is survived by two sons, Joshua, 10, and Logan, 7. Michael Sherman said his brother provided something for the boys _ "He left them his honorable name, as a hero and as a loving father."

Today I went back to visit you for the first time since you were laid to rest in 2004! I didnt want to go back! Cause I felt it only makes it real that your never coming back and you were just still overseas! I miss you dearly! Sorry I'm a little late for your b-day but I know you still had a great time up there. Happy birthday!! You left a lot of very happy memories for a lot of people but we all still cry for you.
