A HS Classmate and Friend "68 It saddens me that we never finished our last phone call. There are so many memories that come to mind. Friday nights we all met after work at the New City Pub, Howie was tending bar and you would see Al at the jukebox putting in his roll of coins buying all the Oldie songs, he would stand in front of jukebox singing the songs, playing his Kazoo, he motivated strangers and of course his best friends to sing and shuffle along to the Oldies, we eventually...

I enjoyed talking to Al, at the Kearsing Edwards American Legion Post every 1st Thursday of the month, about DOO-WOP and even playing Rock n´ Roll Trivia. We both learned a lot about the good old days of Rock n´ Roll. It´s going to feel odd seeing an empty chair and not hearing the music he would play upon requests. Rest in Peace, Al. Paul Mattern

Al Doo Wop was used as our DJ for at least 3 of the Albertus Magnus Class of '65 Reunions. He was a very special person & was very entertaining. Bill O'Neil

A passionate softball team manager and a passionate devotee of doo wop. Enjoyed sharing these mutual interests with this great guy and really enjoyed playing for him. Al, take the Diablos album with you. TommyJ
