Al was a close friend and will be missed.

Al was a dear friend of mine several years ago. So sorry to read of his passing. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Al hired me as artist/designer in the Tribune advertising department and I began 34-years of employment there beginning on June 1, 1981. I always liked Al, many great memories and lots of fun at work and out on picnics with him and boating adventures, too. I miss him and those treasured times, sincerely.

I remember Al well as a funny and kind man. While he was Advertising Manager of the Grand Haven Tribune he hired me and was my supervisor In the early 1970s. He taught me a lot about newspapers and sales and if my car ever gave me trouble Al was there. I send my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Rest in peace Alan.
