Prayers and condolences!
Adios Alan!

Alan was a family and personal friend from both McAllen and Island days. I always looked up to him as a fellow biologist and was always so very impressed with his choice of Kit as a soul and life mate. We surfed together "back in the day" and they were kind enough to open their home to me a few times when I was looking for advice as a budding biologist, high school and college kid. I regret not staying in better touch but I was always talking to folks about them and hearing what a great...

Many mornings I would open my front door to find a giant bag of the MOST delicious oranges. Alan would slip by and drop them off quietly without me knowing. He had the reputation of being THE most amazing fisherman!!! Many times he would give his catch to whomever was lucky enough to share a day of fishing with him. I'm lucky to call Kit and Alan friends of mine for more than 20 years. My heartfelt love and prayers are with you dear Kit.

My deepest sympathies. I am sorry for your loss.

I'm really going to miss seeing Alan at the beach for almost my whole life. We shared some great sessions. I wish I could tell him thanks for being such a great friend to my dad. As a little girl it was "Let's go see Al and Kit!" and I'd pour over their Nat Geo collection and try and befriend the cats. He and Kit were great influences on me. He is especially irreplaceable to my dad. Oh Alan, "Feisty"! We're going to miss you so much. All my love to the family and especially Kit.

So sorry to hear of Alan's passing . My condolences to you and your family.

We met Alan and Kit through my younger brother, Charlie and my Dad, Tom Parkhill. I have never forgotten their kindness. My condolences and thoughts go out to Kit and the Ewers family.
