Not sure what to say?

I just finished reading Alan´s book "The Death Mist", his effort to capture what it was like to face death day & night in an effort to prevent communism´s spread in Southeast Asia. I flew in an A7 squadron on USS Saratoga at the same time. I wanted to locate him to tell him how proud I was of soul reaching depiction of losing our comrades in the futile attempt to save the freedom loving peoples of South Vietnam. Futile because of lack of political conviction, not from the conviction of those...

We only have known Alan for last 4 years. We met he and Nancy on a River Cruise and immediately knew he was one of a kind. His courage and laughter will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers with are with Nancy and children and grandchildren and our Love! God Bless.

I knew Alan when we both flew together out of San Diego. He was one of the first people I met when I came to the base and loved it so much when I came to work, saw his big smile and found out we were flying together. Alan always did his best to care for his passengers and crew. I remember more than once, he would go wait in line to get coffee and food for the flight attendants when we were stuck on the plane with passengers during long delays or how he would invite little children to come...

I had the pleasure of working with Alan at the AA San Diego base doing his travel passes for many years. He was one of the nicest, kindest people I ever met with the biggest smile. I last saw him and Nancy at Moore’s (I was there with my sister). He had a strong will to live and he did, his faith carried him through the tough times. God bless you Nancy and family and Rest In Peace my old friend Alan, you will be missed.

Alan and I had a brother/sister relationship filled with constant teasIng and pretend annoyance. I have been lucky to know him for over 35 years and have been able to watch his beautiful family grow. Throughout the many occasions our families have shared, Alan brought a joke and a smile. His silly giggle was contagious. I am already missing you, my dear friend. Love you!

Alan was a great guy. Knew him from Pensacola and AAL. Always smiling and upbeat, he was a real gentleman.
