Not sure what to say?

We have been thinking of Alan a lot lately as we near this date but also because opera season is upon us. We have the best memories of Alan and Christina and our gang at opening night each year. And it was Alan who made it happen. We don´t go to the opera on the City anymore. We don´t even live in the US. Life is filled with all kinds of things these days as we deal illnesses and just getting older. But how often we think and and speak of Alan is a testament to how important he has been and...

I worked for Alan, a few hours a week for 15 years. I only left him when I returned to live in the U.K. HE WAS A TRULY LOVELY MAN. When my partner died, and I told Alan I couldn´t face coming into his office to work, he said "I´ll bring the work to you" and he did, for 2 years. I offer my condolences to his wife and children, on their great loss. He made the world a kinder, nicer place, for those of us fortunate enough to know him. I will remember him.

We grew up nextdoor to the Grossman´s . Ben and I went to the same summer camp as Marc and David as a result. We were very tight growing up on the upper West side. Like many New Yorkers, when you see each other on the street, you acknowledge each other with a kind nod or brief conversation. As did our parents. But as "the kids" you knew to mind your p & q´s and be respectful. I have fond memories of seeing Alan and Christina walking to or from the tennis courts in Central Park. They always...

It was a pleasure getting to know Alan and his wife Christina. He was an amazing person and had a profound impact on so many peoples lives. He genuinely cares about others and will be deeply missed.

Single Memorial Tree

In 1994 I was a student intern at NYU school of social work learning my craft. Alan´s wisdom and knowledge have been an invaluable part of my journey. He was a very special man! And although we lost touch,I will miss his presence on the UWS

We are devastated! We have been living in Europe since May and received the news yesterday as a shock and our hearts are broken. You can look around and try to find a better man than Alan and you will fail. So smart with an ever inquisitive mind, a clever entrepreneur, a wonderful and caring therapist, a loving and devoted husband and father, and a lifelong mentor and friend to so, so many. He was always there to help you think through life's conundrums, constantly supportive, always ready...

On behalf of the Administration, Faculty and Staff of Queens College, we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Grossman and family. May he Rest in Peace,

back in 2001, i was a student intern at the new york counseling and guidance service. alan´s mentoring skill and talent changed for good the course of my life. he was wise and caring, firm and serious, gentle and tender. i think of things he said--verbatim-- and repeat them in my own work with my own patients. his life´s legacy will continue. lee chew, lcsw
