Alan Russell (Podunk) Harris died at age 91, on January 5, 2018, at Conway Regional Medical Center, Conway, Arkansas.
Alan was born in Casa, Arkansas, on May 31, 1926, to Charles J. Harris and Rose Lee Meeks Harris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Harris; daughter, Angela Kaye Harris; great-granddaughter Avery Mae Brixey; and three siblings, Charles Franklin Harris (Barney) and James Cyrus Harris (Bunt) and Betty Catherine Harris.
Alan is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Sue Brixey (Clinton), Patricia Ann Morris (J. R.) and Alene Grace Bynum (John).
Alan Harris had nine grandchildren: Shannon Smart (Scott), Keith Brixey, Wendy Duvall (Erick), Darin Brixey (Candace), Tammy Janssen (Rusty), Candace Smith (J.J.), Jennifer Alderson (Tim), Amy Whitehead (Derek) and John Michael Bynum.
Alan is survived by 22 great-grandchildren: Morgan Pack (Jake), Mallory Smart, Courtney Crowder (Justin), Chloe Kirkland, Tyler Kirkland, Isabella Brixey, Jake Brixey, Amber Stover, Cailey Stover, Patience Brixey, Waid Rainey, Colt Short, Cody Short, Bailey Janssen, Jake Janssen, Matthew Wagner, Abby Wagner, Sidney Smith, Whitney Smith, Grant Alderson, Luke Whitehead, and Jack Whitehead.
Alan is survived by seven great-great-grandchildren: Paisley Lily-Ann Pack, Emma Claire Pack, Graham Allen Pack, Hunter Crowder, Addison Crowder, Brooks Hamilton Crowder, and Hagen Smith.
Alan Harris was elected Mayor of Casa in 1955. He served as Mayor until his death. He retired from Green Bay Packaging after 25 years.
Alan Harris' funeral will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Casa, Arkansas, and he will be buried at Casa Cemetery immediately following the funeral service and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The visitation will be Monday, January 8. 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Shinn Funeral Service, Russellville, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
