Not sure what to say?

Mr. Hart was the shop keeper of times gone by. The type I remembered as a child in my small town. I brought my first grader (now a high school sophomore), who did not like to go on shopping errands, to Harts and she found her store. When she had friends over to visit they would walk to Harts to shop. It was a big deal to be able to walk to a store without an adult and go shopping. Mr. Hart was interested in what she wanted to buy and he would ask her opinion. He empowered her by giving her...

I'm so very sorry. Mr. Hart was a true neighbor, and he will be remembered as a stakeholder in this community and a model for stewardship. What a great guy. I brought my kids in since they were little and then they would come by on their own. They have many happy memories of him, as well as Mrs. Hart, and we are grateful for the tradition he made possible for many families to visit and know a well-run, family owned, local business.

Carol & Family, We are so sorry to hear about Alan. He was so nice and just a joy everytime we went into the store. He will be missed.

All the girls at Linda's Flowers send our love to Alan's family and to Carol. We were saddened and shocked to hear of his passing, we will miss his cute face walking around the Admiral area. He was a great man and a West Seattle icon, rest in peace Alan, we will all miss you.

I AM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I ENJOYED GOING INTO HIS STORE.

So sorry to hear about Alan. He was a generous kind man who always went out of his way to make us feel welcome when we stopped by the store. I missed him when he sold the store and had hoped we would run into him on our walks.

I have just learned of Mr. Hart's passing. My thoughts are with you and your family. My young sons loved going to Hart's and Mr. Hart was always so kind and fun. You and your husband helped to make this neighborhood such a wonderful place to live and we thank you.

With deepest sympathies,
Shannon Braddock and family
