Alan mentored me while I was at Brooklyn Law School in the late 80s. He was a golden man, brilliant and big-hearted.

Alan was a friend, mentor, scholar, gentleman, and an inspiration. We had many wonderful conversations at Lake George during breaks at Copyright Society meetings and later in New York. He was admired by countless copyright lawyers. Condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing.

Alan was a mentor and colleague. He also served as mediator in a difficult case on which I was counsel, drawing it to a successful resolution, with his trademark (he would approve the use of the word) grace and wit. We will miss him and honor his memory.

Alan mentored me when I took his Copyright Law class in the LL.M program at NYU School of Law. He advised me as I considered various career paths, and took me in as an associate at his firm, Colton, Weissberg, Hartnick, Yamin and Sheresky.
