We cherish many fond memories of fine dinners, pertinent political discussions, ski race administration collaboratives, symphonies enjoyed together. But most importantly shared parenting and mentoring of our son Eric who lived in Alans home as a ski racer at Rowmark. Thank you, Alan, for the love you shared

I was very fortunate to take Prof. Hayes hardware lab classes at the U. of Utah in the early '80s. He was an incredible teacher, and I learned a tremendous amount from him that year.

It is with great sadness I learn of Alan's passing. Alan was a lifelong friend which began as a junior ski racer and continued to this day. He was always supportive of my athletic goals and encouraged me to pursue my MBA at Harvard; maybe one more Red Sox fan he must have thought. Two or three times he visited my family and friends on the shore of Lake Tahoe, once riding his BMW motorcycle across the Nevada desert on highway 50. It was a very sad day in our home hearing about Alan's passing. Alan's friendship was unconditional and truly caring person. Our family will cherish the memories we had with Alan.
