Not sure what to say?

Dr. Alan Hunt was a tremendous teacher and a brilliant thinker. He made a tremendous impact on me, though I only knew him from a one semester undergraduate class that he taught. His approach to thinking and problem-solving was extraordinary. He engaged us in the lecture material and his research, and to this day I revisit the material he has taught me and continue to use his approach to problem-solving and thinking. I am a childhood friend of Alan, going back to elementary school but through high school. Alan was a great guy, and reading his obituary made me feel really glad about the life that he lived. Very sorry to hear this news, and I send my best wishes to his family.

I was a Ph.D. student at U of M not long ago, and took a course taught by Dr. Hunt. He was both an extremely intelligent and thoughtful scientist, as well as a humorous, caring and empathetic man. My heart goes out to the Hunt family.

I am very saddened to hear about Alan's passing. He was always upbeat and always had a smile on his face when I would see him at conferences.

My deepest condolences,

Joyce Wong

I was a student at UMich and knew Alan as the most upbeat Professor ever. I hope that in remembering the strength and optimism of his spirit, we can all find the strength to overcome this great loss. My deepest condolences to his family.

Dear Hunt family, Alan sounds like an amazing man. I am sorry we did not know him. Our hearts go out to all of you.

Thinking of you every day Alan

I did not know this man. However I just read his obituary. It seemed like he enjoyed life to the fullest. Accomplishments were many. It sounds like he must have been a wonderful husband and father, someone a joy to know. My husband died from Pancreatic cancer after we found out in just 6 weeks. To read about this man, what a loss. You have my deepest sympathy, may God Bless you

My children
