So sadden to hear of the passing of AJ. Worked with him years ago in kitchens and always admired his attention to detail and his kindness to others.
He was a special man and our sympathy to his family. Too young to be taken from this world.
Rest In Peace Allen

I continue to be saddened by the news of Alan's sudden passing. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Alan's family. I wish there was also a memorial in the Southern Pines area where he grew up.

AJ and Henrietta Maness

AJ was such a kind, warm person and he will be missed. My mother lived at Wilora Lake Lodge when AJ was head chef there, and she thought he was delightful. He prepared the food for Mother's 90th birthday celebration, and made it a very special occasion! I am so glad I had the privilege of knowing this good man, even though I didn't know him well. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. (I'm including a photo of AJ and my mother.)
