Alan you were one cool funny guy not to mention a really good painter. Both my husband George & partner Sam loved meeting you thru me. Lucky to have known you!

I have known Alan for many years and always enjoyed seeing his work and being with his wife,Audrey and daughter Andrea. His paintings glowed and were beautiful and harmonious in their entirety. Alan had a generous spirit that made its way into his paintings. I used to see him years ago painting outdoors by the co-op wall on Wooster St. If I stopped to say hello, he always had words and a smile, but his eyes were fixed on his canvas. He was an abstract painter but seemed to be always following the light. I remember his orange paintings, the shadows just beyond noon. And, somehow, I always felt safe seeing Alan there. I think that's what artists do--they make us see beyond...
