Alan "Al" Maas

I was fortunate to know Al since first grade at Watertown school. He taught me that fishing for sun fish was more fun with a fly/popper than a worm. I’ve been a fly fisherman ever since. One childhood experience I remember was playing with him in a trumpet trio In high school music completion. He was a fine trumpet player. When I did get back to Leach Lake for a fishing trip, Al was always ready to share a special location.

Dad a I started fishing with Al in the early 1970’s. We always had a good time. He was a great person. I have thought of Al over the years with fond memories. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Maas family during this difficult times.

Mr Maas was an awesome teacher, my condolences to his family.
