Not sure what to say?

Dear Mary and family, We are so sorry for your loss, but in reading his obituary, he had a wonderful life , full of love, friends and family. Rest in peace Alan. Love to Mary and the family, Michelle and Cam Ogden

Mr. McCracken's teaching bore such good humor alongside high expectations. In the halls, he always had a funny quip or warm smile to connect with a student passing by. I'm grateful he was my teacher. May his memory be joyful and sweet. Trip and the whole family are in my heart.

I have many fond memories of Alan. Not only were we members of the Class of 1954 but we kept in touch throughout life. My condolences to Mary Jo & Trip.

I remember him very fondly. Most teachers and coaches were approachable, but he stood out. Incredibly sincere and funny. Mr MacCracken will be missed

My deepest sympathies to the MacCracken family. I remember his warm smile in the halls of Hawken Upper School. Elise Sogg Tilelli `79

I send my condolences to the whole family. Though I regretfully never had him as a classroom teacher over my 4 years in the 1980s, I considered him a teacher on the athletic fields and an example of living a good life. Al was the best. Most jovial person I ever met.He was great with stats for most of The Hawks sports teams. So much so ,they named the press box at Humphrey Field after him.In fact,"Stats" was elected into Hawken sports HOF.Much deserved. He will be missed.Coach Spicer.
