Not sure what to say?

Remembering my days at Eleanor McMain in NOLA and was thinking of beloved teachers and Mr. Maclachlan was absolutely one of my personal favorites. I'm so sorry that I don't get to meet up with him and let him know how much his passion for history, especially African American history, impacted me. Thank you, Mr. Mac!

We were very fortunate to have met Dr. Mac. He was truly a wonderful person and a brilliant man. He had a passion for history and the truth like no other person I have ever met. I hope you find peace kind sir.

Dr. Mac was one of the most kind hearted, understanding person that I have ever met. While I only had him as a teacher for a semester, he was the best history teacher that I have had. We will miss seeing him in the hallways and classrooms of MHS.

I knew Alan barely five years, through Facebook. We had some wonderful discussions. In that short time, his wisdom profoundly affected me. Learning of his passing has brought tears to my eyes. I shall miss you, Alan.

Only knew him for a short time, but he had nothing but encouraging words to me and my situation at the time. He will be sorely missed here at Mandeville High.

To H. Kutzen;
With heart felt sadness I reach out to you today to let you know that you are in my prayers as you no longer enjoy life with your beloved "Alan". I hope that the memories of these past many years will put a smile on your face as you think about him and you gain strength to go on each day.
We have lost a very special person and a great mind!!!

A great educator and friend, Dr. Mac will be sorely missed by myself and the rest of the faculty at MHS. He made me realize some of the finer benefits of teaching, and I will never forget his intense love for history and learning. I will do my best to take what he has taught me and become a better teacher every day.

Mr. Maclachlan made a lasting impression and immeasurable contribution to the lives of many young students who went off to contribute change to the world. Mr. Mac challenged us to think outside of the box/textbook. We had heated debates and thought provoking discussions in his American History Class. He taught McMain's first ever African American History course with passion and a wealth of knowledge. Mr. Mac had high expectations and only the best, well crafted, and detailed essays received...

Mr. MacLachlan was a truly inspirational teacher. His passion for history was evident in his work. He was absolutely one of the best teachers I've had. May God's grace comfort his family during this time. Know that his contribution to the education of hundreds of students was unparalleled and is so greatly appreciated.
