Not sure what to say?

Way back in Grade 10 a world of Literature, theatre and so much more opened up to me thanks to the Great Man Mr Mcnab would stand at the front of the classroom and recite the from Masters for us. This Man chsnged my life God bless you

We've lost a spark, much warmth, a flame, brilliance. You'll burn on in our hearts and minds, in the interplanetary cosmos, beyond. My condolences.

The term "gentleman and a scholar" was surely intended for Alan MacNab. He is without a doubt one of life's kindest, nicest individuals. He was a great teacher and a great man. He made a great difference in this world. I am sure that right about now he is having a lengthy chat with his favorite author, Ernest Hemingway. My deepest sympathies to the MacNab family.

"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."
-- Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965)

Mr. MacNab (Alan) was one of those rare sparks who brightly lit the world for hundreds of students.

We are so very thankful for our time spent under his tutelage at SCHS.

With fond memories and deep sympathy,
David & Tracey Armstrong

Our condolences to Elizabeth and the boys, from former neighbours down the street. RIP Alan.

I'm so sorry for your loss. In the first few months of being in Mr. MacNab's class he brought me from intensely disliking English class to loving it. He was exceptionally gifted in his ability to inspire enjoyment of language, and I was tremendously lucky to have him as my teacher.

SCHS '98

Mr. MacNab had a huge impact in my life. When he was on duty in the caf. I use to skip class just to go talk with him. He had me believe in myself and I am so grateful to have known him. Over the last 20 years I would chat with him over the phone when traveling through Ottawa and I will miss him deeply. The wind beneath my wings.

Our sincere condolences.Sad to here another hometown neighbour is gone.

Sincere sympathy to the Family of this wonderful man.
I am a former student and a teacher(retired) myself. I remember fondly the classes I had with Mr. MacNab
They were of fun and full of interesting conversations. He was a true Gentleman
