Alan Raymond Martell

I was greatly saddened to learn of Al's passing. He and I were classmates at Weaver High School, Hartford, CT, and had been married for 10 years. People change, however, and we moved on. We had emailed each other just shortly before his death after establishing contact through "Classmates". He loved his life on the shore, calling it heaven.

Al was a mentor to me who became my friend for over 29 years. He visited us in rural Idaho this past October after a 6 hour bus ride through wild country. We expected more time together, talking wine and politics but it has ended. Our love to Karen, Micah and Natalie, friends from PCA and of course the famous “Supper Club”. We will miss you.

He was the best boss I ever worked for. He was a good friend, confidant and there when you needed him the most. You were a loving father and overall a dam good man who will be missed dearly. It comforting to know there is another good guy up there in heaven

Al was my stepfather and one of the greatest male influences in my life. He taught me how to be the man I am through his kindness, generosity and sensitivity. Although we hadn't see each other recently, I have many, many fond memories of Al including our shared interest of music and movies. I think of him often and will profoundly miss him.
