Alan Dennis Metter

Truly a one-of-a-kind talent in so many ways. His memory is a blessing for all who knew him.

My heart goes out to Alan's family; I know how much he loved them. I knew Alan first from Howard's improv class and over the years spent time with him and Rick Sandack. He was a remarkably smart and insightful man, whose sense of humor ranked among the greatest. I was sad to hear about his death. Sending my deepest sympathy ... Brooke

Five minutes after meeting Alan in 1973 and I knew I'd met someone special. His mind took turns that no one else could imagine. I would hang on his every word, trying not to miss one of the many gems he uttered. He was a one-of-a kind; smart, funny, talented and above it all, a mensch. Knowing him was a gift.

So long my friend...

Alan was an incredible guy, very complicated, funny, talented, smart and caring. I was married to him many years ago and we share a wonderful son. We stayed friends through all the years, all the ups and all the downs and even though he had health issues, I still was not prepared to lose him, especially since it was so sudden. He made a big impact on many lives and he will not be forgotten.

Deeply saddened by the sudden departure of my longtime, dear friend Alan Metter or Butch as we called him. He was/is & always will be one of the funniest, most beloved friends Ive been blessed to know.
