Not sure what to say?

I am so very sorry for your tremendous loss. Alan was an awesome person and father to your wonderful sons.
Hoping that comfort and peace will come to you and your family.

Alan and I shared many hours together at local high schools discussing WWII while dressed in our opposing uniforms (he was US, I was German) ... He was a perfect match for our spiel ... I am shocked and saddened by his passing and the sense of loss for his family. My memories of Alan are all so positive and enriching, truly difficult to understand the "why" some things happen. A salute to my brother in arms.

I enjoyed working with Alan at Tenneco from 2010 -13. Alan was an excellent engineer. His dedication to his family and faith were always apparent as we shared stories on our trips to Peoria and Seward. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to both Alan and his family. He will certainly be missed.

I worked with Alan for many years. He was taken much too soon. He was so proud of his sons. Heart felt condolences to his family.

Alan will be greatly missed, I have always appreciated all the wonderful help your whole family has given to me. I am so sorry for your loss and so grateful for the time I was able to be around him. Thank You! Be strong and it may feel like everything is going up hill. Keep pushing and I know you will get back to the top of the hill one stride at a time. Love Coach

Rick and I knew Alan and his wife, Melanie through Rick coaching David and Daniel in soccer. We would also get to see them through attending many cross country and track events. They were a beautiful family and it showed in every way. We would later get to know young Jonathan when Rick coached him in youth basketball. The news of Alan's passing was heartbreaking. Our prayers are with Melanie and the boys. May God hold them in his arms and comfort them through these saddest of days.

We haven't seen each other in a very long time, but that doesn't mean you're not in my thoughts, prayers and heart right now. Somehow I pray you and the boys will be able to find peace and be able to move on the way Alan would want for you. Words cannot express the sadness and sorrow I feel for you and your family right now. Want to do something to help, but there really is nothing, but prayers and that brings healing. Blessings to you and the boys.

I had the pleasure of working with Alan for 23 years. He was devoted to his family and would smile his infectious smile when you asked about his wife and children.

Alan, you were a gentleman and a scholar. You will be missed by all. May you Rest In Peace.

On behalf of the 82 A/B Reenactment group our most sincere condolences. Al was a great friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. We will have a memorial service and 21gun salute in his honor at Rockford Midway Village on September 23rd. Gone Airborne! All the way brother.
