So sorry to hear of Alan's passing. To quote Maya Angelou: I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. When I first moved to Vermont, in January 1993, I was lonely, depressed, feeling very sorry for myself, and near tears one day while waiting in line at Butson's. A handsome man about my age waiting in front of me, wearing a green vest, suddenly turned around, gave me a genuine smile, and said hello....

It was a joy to play for special services with Alan ... always encouraging others his example will live on in those he served from his heart and faith.
