Coach had a major influence on many young lives and I was one of those that felt that influence. I had newly arrived from Florida as a sophomore who was placed in Al's Social Studies class. Al asked me to come out for the soccer team. I did and was a member of the 1966-67 and 1967-68 county championship teams with the 1967-68 team going on to win the equivalent of the state title. A few years later Al asked me to join him and coach the Spalding HS JV Soccer Team. I went on to coach at OMHS...

Never had Al as a teacher, but still learned a lot from him on the soccer field and later in life. Caught up with him while I was at college in southern Maryland and he was a Vice Principal at Great Mills High School. I knew then that wasn't the job for him. Coach Patrick had a tremendous impact on my life. He was a great coach, mentor and friend. I went to his retirement party and that was the last time I saw him. Most of the soccer team was there and we all celebrated together...the life of a wonderful man.

Mr. Patrick was my favorite teacher in high school. Really knew how to connect with teenagers. He was a wonderful influence in our lives. So sorry.

I remember Mr., now Dr., Patrick from Glen Burnie. He was such a great guy. I never had him as a teacher, but my ex-fiance did and so I got to know him that way. Even in my senior year I always found time to say hi to him and to also talk with him. He was always there for us no matter what. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends. May God help you to get through this time and remember all the great things about him. My name back then was Linda Leighty and I just want...

So sad to hear this. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Love and prayers your way.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Alan.

Coach Patrick was my soccer coach at Glen Burnie High. He was a great coach and wonderful human being. He was also a friend and role model. Thanks for all you did for me at GBHS.
